VORP has had a successful start to the 2016 year. We have received close to one hundred referrals between the two probation departments in west and east counties and have been able to successfully complete close to fifty percent of those referrals. We recently had the opportunity to work with a victim from a petty theft case referred to our program. The victim was very appreciative of the opportunity to not only receive restitution for the theft, but to also help the offender to recognize how his actions had really impacted her and her family. Of the VORP process, this victim said, “I just hope that overall this was a positive experience for the boy and that he is able to avoid doing something like this again in the future and remember what this whole thing has been like for both of us.”
If you are interested in getting involved with VORP, we are always looking for volunteers. Please contact us at 925-937-3800.
